Super paper mario on wii chapter 3-4?

in super paper mario for wii, chapter 3-4, im trying to get into the room with francis and tippi inside to do this do i need to go down the corridor with the spikes or through the door hanging off the ceiling (or somewhere else). please tell me which one and how to do it
